Theory #22 - Theory of Bonds

For all the people trying so hard to push other people away.
and for all the people trying so hard to hold on to other people.

this is for you...

Theory of Bonds

I don't think the bond you have and share with someone is like a fruit.
Comparing a friendship or a bond to a fruit means it's starts small, with time and love it grows and ripens into something delicious but that means it either has to be consumed or by nature it'll rot and spoil.

so no... i don't think a bond is like a fruit.

i think it's like a precious stone.
like almost all precious stones, if not all.. they are at first undiscovered.. hidden in caves or in the earth.
there are many types, diamonds, rubies, opals, topaz... some more valuable than others... some more appreciated and recognized than others even.
and i mean all kinds of bonds. family, friends, lovers.. everything.

when two people meet the bond isn't always clear yet.. takes time to dig it up, to break off whatever sediments are on it.
with other people, the brightness and beauty shines right away.
this goes back to my theory of transparency.. how transparent you are with someone around you also effects how clear the gem is gonna be..

sometimes we could look at a rock and think it's not worth keeping.. other people see potential and look for that beauty within. the bond that could exist.
sometimes friends become like siblings after the test of time... after circumstances and trials.. this is much of how diamonds for example are made.. if you've ever seen what a diamond looks like between when it's found and when it's sold in a shop, you'd see the difference.. it just needed a little attention.. a little work, to make something beautiful.
sometimes we're disappointed.. trying to clear off all the rubble off what we thought would be precious but turns out not to be.
you could know someone for YEARS and both of you not bother clearing up the stone to see how great it could be.. but then after time and circumstance the real gem appears from under everything.
but the point of the matter is.. gems, are timeless.
if you found something beautiful... you can't change that. .. you can't change that connection or bond. you can try to cover it up, try to hide it... to get it out of your site, but it'll still be there... all you have to do is put the effort to dig it up again, to shine it again.. to work on it again and you'll have it once more.
you could also decide that the price to pay.. to have that gem, is just not worth it...

but no amount of TIME, or DISTANCE will diminish it's existence or it's beauty, no matter how you try.

you could forget about it, sure, out of sight, out of mind...... but don't go around pretending it doesn't exist or never did... and dont' try to change it. change it's color or it's character. it is what it is.. hard, beautiful and everlasting.
